Second View Privacy Policy
Second View helps users highlight text on webpages and get a practical second view before they trust it, send it or act on it.
What data Second View processes
Second View may process:
- User-selected text that the user explicitly sends for analysis or rewriting
- Basic extension settings stored locally in the browser
- Basic usage events such as runs, feedback clicks and errors
- Email addresses submitted through beta or private lens request forms
- Coarse page metadata such as the page domain, where needed to support the extension
Second View does not intentionally collect full browsing history, passwords, payment details, health information, precise location data or authentication credentials.
How selected text is used
Selected text is sent to Second View’s backend only after the user takes an explicit action, such as running a critique or rewrite.
Selected text is used to provide the requested critique, rewrite or feedback. It is not sold.
Analytics
Second View may use basic analytics to understand whether the extension works, improve the product and fix issues. Analytics are limited to product usage events and coarse metadata.
Data sharing
Second View does not sell user data.
Data may be processed by service providers used to operate the extension, such as hosting, analytics and AI model providers, only for the purpose of running and improving Second View.
