The original house was rewired room by room as decoration came off, circuits modernised, RCD/RCBO protection brought in, sockets and switching repositioned to suit how the family actually use the spaces. Through the extension, we worked first-fix with the carpenters: cable runs sized and routed so the slatted oak feature wall could hide its sockets behind moveable timbers, and so the kitchen's downlight and pendant grid landed on the architect's centrelines without compromise.
The house reads as one continuous home, the new extension and the original rooms sharing a single, considered approach to light and power rather than feeling like two buildings stitched together. The signature details that the architect wanted (the oak wall, the floating vanity, the vaulted kitchen pendants) all work the way the drawings promised, which is the part that's usually the difficult bit.
