High-bay, three-phase and emergency lighting through a working depot, called out when others let them down.

The brief

Truck Trans operates a logistics depot in Dartford with vehicles in and out around the clock. The lighting across the warehouse and yard was a mix of ageing fittings, bright in some places, dim in others, and the distribution board feeding it all was past the point where it could take any more circuits cleanly. They needed a full lighting rebuild plus a three-phase board upgrade, organised around continuous depot operations.

What we did

The site was scoped end-to-end before any tools came out, high-bay positions plotted to the rack layout, emergency lighting placed against the means-of-escape routes, and external floods aimed for both yard manoeuvring and security. We brought a scissor lift in for the steel-frame mounts and worked the bigger phases in night and weekend windows so the day-shift kept moving.

• High-bay LED scheme through the main warehouse, even lux levels across the rack layout.
• External floodlighting around the yard and vehicle apron, security and night-shift visibility.
• Emergency lighting on means-of-escape routes, tested and certified to BS 5266.
• Three-phase distribution board upgrade with proper circuit segregation and headroom.
• All cabling on tray and trunking through the steel frame, accessible for future additions.

What changed

Depot staff aren't squinting in dim aisles any more, the yard is safe to manoeuvre after dark, and the board has the headroom to take whatever the next operational change asks for. The site has stayed on our books for the regular EICR cycle and ad-hoc reactive jobs.
