Homeowner servicesAs trained, registered & insured architects, we understand how the planning system works, and where there is a strong design case, we will challenge the local authority on your behalf. The result is often a consent for a scheme that might not have been granted at first pass.
Our approach is design-led and client-centred: tailored design options rather than a single take-it-or-leave-it scheme, and drawings that are visually driven and technically robust, so planners can say yes and contractors can build accurately.
How we approach planning
Four schemes from the studio, each shown through the 3D visualisations and drawings produced for design and planning.
A dated 1950s property re-imagined as a contemporary family home, a gabled two-storey form in brick and timber, full internal reconfiguration and a roof lift for a loft studio.

A former stables, previously converted to a 1.5-storey home, raised and reconfigured for a full-height first floor, around 70% more living space within a familiar streetscape.

A 1930s cottage in the Norfolk countryside elevated with a double-storey front extension and a new leisure wing, games room, gym and pool behind expansive glazing.

A mid-terrace home opened to the garden, a new open-plan living space with bifold doors and skylight, timber-slatted screening and a partial first-floor addition.
View projectThe same structured route on every project, so you always know which stage you're at, what you've received and what comes next.
We assess the constraints and features of the site, survey it, and take the time to understand your needs, aspirations and budget, so the brief is right before the design starts.
Sketch designs showing plans and internal and external appearances, through CAD, hand sketches and 3D visualisations. This is where your ideas are created for you to see.
We consult the local planning authority on how the developing design is likely to be received, then produce detailed drawings suitable for a planning application.
Once you're happy with the developed design, we prepare and submit your planning application, including the Design and Access Statement where required.
Drawings, calculations and specifications describing the basic construction, submitted to the local authority, and we deal with any queries they raise.
Drawings and specifications showing the precise design and arrangement of building components, essential for obtaining accurate prices from contractors.
Every planning-stage commission is built around a defined set of documents, the same set that has carried our clients' applications through.
Real reviews from real clients, several of them planning outcomes.
With the brief and a site appraisal, usually followed by a Design Feasibility Report, what your site or property can realistically take and the likely planning route, before any detailed design spend.
Yes. We prepare and submit the application, including the Design and Access Statement, and consult the local planning authority as the design develops. Where the design case is strong, we will challenge the local authority's position rather than simply accept a first refusal.
That's the point of them. Our drawings are visually driven and technically robust, Building Regulations packages and tender drawings showing the precise design and arrangement of building components, so contractors can price accurately and build it as designed.
Yes. The practice built its track record on high-end residential developments and now offers the same professional service to homeowners, from home extensions and refurbishments to bespoke new build homes.
