A ground-floor rear extension and partial first-floor addition to a mid-terrace home in Clapham, more space for a growing family, and a rear elevation reimagined for modern living.
The deep plan of the existing building presented an opportunity to maximise light and volume. A new open-plan living space at the rear features large bifold doors and a skylight that flood the interior with natural light, while a new family bathroom on the first floor extends the home's functionality. Contrasting materials complement the existing stock brickwork, with timber slats over the rear fenestration as a distinctive feature, balancing visual interest with privacy.
The scheme is shown here through the exterior and interior 3D visualisations produced for design, planning and Building Regulations.
