A former stables, previously converted into a 1.5-storey family home, extended and reconfigured for a full-height first floor, the roofline significantly raised to deliver around 70% more living space, while respecting the building's original character and the surrounding streetscape.
Working closely with the client and contractors from the outset, a series of design options balanced ambition with budget. The final design blends traditional cottage elements with contemporary materials, dark timber cladding over a rendered base, unified by sharp, defined lines that carry through interior and exterior, to establish a strong street presence and a clear architectural identity.
