"Do I need a structural engineer?" is the question most Panoptic Design enquiries start with. The checker answers it on the website, then turns the answer into a pre-qualified enquiry.

How it's built, in plain English
Modern, standards-based web. Nothing exotic, nothing you can't take elsewhere.
Tools and applications are built on the open web platform: HTML, CSS and JavaScript that any competent developer can read and maintain. They run on Cloudflare Workers, which means the code runs at the edge, close to the user, and stays fast without servers to look after.
Where a tool needs to talk to something else, we integrate with what you already use rather than replacing it: Cal.com for bookings, Google Sheets as a simple back office, your CRM, Twilio or Telnyx for calls and SMS, and WhatsApp for enquiries.

Automika builds custom digital tools and web applications for UK service businesses, usually as part of the website rather than as a separate product.
Does Automika build custom web applications?
Yes. Calculators, checkers, booking flows, customer portals, qualification tools, internal tools and bespoke web applications for UK service businesses. Live examples include the "Do I need a structural engineer?" checker on the Panoptic Design website and the QR-linked video setup and removal guide for EasyStride. Tools like this exist to fix the qualification leak described in why websites lose enquiries after launch.
What's the difference between a tool and a web app?
A tool does one job on a page: a calculator, a checker, a qualifier, a booking step. A web app is a larger piece of software with its own screens, data and often user accounts: a customer portal, an internal system, a transactional flow such as a rental checkout. Most service businesses need a tool first. We build both and will tell you which you actually need.
Can a tool live inside my existing website?
Usually, yes. Tools are built as self-contained components or pages that can be embedded in, or linked from, an existing site, with results that can be deep-linked and shared. Where the existing site can't host it well, we host the tool on a subdomain or path on Cloudflare and link it in.
How much does a custom tool cost?
There are no fixed public prices because scope varies. A focused tool added to an existing site sits towards the lower end of our typical range, which starts at around £1,500. Full website builds with custom tools reach £15,000 and above. Pricing sets out what sits at each end of that range, and every tool is scoped and quoted as a fixed price after a build call.
Who owns the code?
You do. Automika builds the tool or application, deploys it to accounts you own, documents it and hands it over. There is no lock-in to Automika to keep using it.
